Old Blind Dogs at the Levitt Pavilion Macarthur Park

Friday, September 4th, 2009

http://www.islandmusicfest.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/old-blind-dogs-220x330.jpgThe Old Blind Dogs are performing in Los Angeles tomorrow night for FREE!  This band is a must see.  Seriously.  If you are into music at all you must go, heck if you have a pulse you must go.

The Old Blind Dogs have become one of On Ensemble’s favorite bands ever since we had the privilege (horror) of performing right after them at the California World Fest this summer.  We ran into them again at the WAA Conference this week and it turns out they are going to play the Macarthur Park Levitt Pavilion this Saturday! We just performed at the Pasadena Levitt Pavilion last Friday.

This is the kind of band we aspire to be like. They play with honesty, soul, technique and conviction and are one of the tightest best sounding bands in any genre I’ve ever heard live.  They are just a great band that plays great music.  Period.  Please go see them.

Long overdue calendar update

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

I just finished updating our calendar section with new performances.  We’ll be making our first run out to Utah in April with a perpformance at Salt Lake Community College and we have a very busy summer lined up with performances at the Oregon Bach Festival, the Ford Ampitheater, the Levitt Pavilion and the California WorldFest.  AND…  that’s all before the Summer Taiko Institute and the 2009 North American Taiko Conference.

The Summer Taiko Institute was recently feature on Create Culture a great social networking site for art lovers everywhere.  There is even a throat singing camp in Tuva featured on the site, how cool is that?
